Wound treatment
Methods that I offer in my practice
Laser therapy
Laser therapy for wounds is a gentle treatment that leads to an improvement in tissue metabolism. This leads to better blood circulation, anti-inflammation, reduction of oedema (swelling), pain relief and therefore faster wound healing).
Focused shock wave therapy (ESWT)
Focused shock waves are high-energy, short-wave sound waves that develop their effect in the deeper layers without irritating the skin. The treatment is largely free of risk and side effects, accelerates wound healing, improves local metabolism and blood circulation and reduces local inflammation.
Vacuum (VAC®) therapy (negative pressure therapy)
What is VAC therapy or NPWT?
VAC therapy is a special wound dressing under continuous suction. This enables secondary wound closure from the depths (“secondary granulation”). This therapy is particularly suitable for infected wounds or wounds with a lot of lymphatic seroma. The regular dressing changes are carried out in our surgery by our wound managers under specialist medical supervision.
Necrosectomy
Surgical removal of dead tissue
Necrosectomy is a surgical procedure in which dead tissue is removed from the wound to promote healing of the surrounding tissue and prevent infection and progression of the wound situation.
